[ARCHIVED] Poster Contest for Parker K-5 Students Now Open

The Town of Parker is hosting a poster contest for students grades K-5 to celebrate Colorado Cities & Towns Week, and we invite your child to participate! The contest theme is “My town is great because…” and encourages students to think about the important services that the Town provides. This contest is open to any K-5 grade student living in the Town of Parker.

Three winners will be selected from the pool of entries. Arrangements will be made with the teacher and parents of the winning students to attend the Sept. 8 Parker Town Council meeting to be recognized. Selected posters will be displayed in Town Hall during Colorado Cities and Towns Week, Sept. 14 through 20, and contest winners will also be invited to a special lunch with Mayor Mike Waid.

Students who would like to participate should follow these guidelines:
1. Students are to create an 8.5” x 11” poster showing a program or service provided by the Town of Parker.
2. On the back of the poster, students should include a brief (no more than 50 words) description of the service featured in the poster and how it helps make our Town great.
3. Student and teacher names must appear on the back of the poster.
4. Only one entry per student will be permitted.
5. Hand drawn, electronic or a combination of images illustrating the program or service will be allowed.
6. Mailed entries must be postmarked by Aug. 25 to: Town of Parker, Attn: Town Administrative Manager, 20120 E. Mainstreet, Parker, CO 80138.
7. Students may work alone or in small groups at their teacher’s discretion.

Questions on this contest may be directed to Chris Vanderpool, Administrative Manager, at or 303.805.3117.
